Painted Wolf Rosalind Rose 2015
87 pts Robert Parker Jr.’s The Wine Advocate (NM)
The 2015 Rosalind Rosé has a clean and perfumed rose water and orange blossom nose that is nicely defined. The palate is well balanced with good weight for a Rosé matched with a keen citric thread of acidity that maintains fine freshness. This is a well made, easy drinking Rosé.

Pale, bright pink-tinged orange. Strawberry and whiff of nuts on the nose; not as floral as the ‘14. Offers good texture on the palate, with the strawberry side of the variety apparent today. Lacks the definition and lift for a higher score but this is a nicely mouth filling rosé with a firm-edged finish.
The grapes for this wine were sourced from a single block of Pinotage in the Paarl region, picked especially for making rosé. We have set out to make the finest and most elegant dry Rosé possible from Pinotage. The grapes were handpicked into small baskets and taken to the cellar and were destalked and gently crushed. The juice had roughly 12 hours of skin contact before we gravity drained the juice off the skins. We recovered 9500 litres of juice from 24 tons of grapes, the lightest and most elegant free run juice.
