2015 Nugan Estate Shiraz Third Generation Bright purple. Fresh red berries, candied flowers and cracked pepper on the fragrant nose. Smooth and fleshy on entry and then more taut and lively in the mid palate, offering juicy cherry and raspberry flavors that develop a smoky nuance with air. Rich yet energetic, finishing with firm cut and slowly building tannins that sneak in late. This wine delivers serious value. — Josh Raynolds
The fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness in the cool of the night to preserve delicate fruit flavour and inhibit wild yeast fermentation. After crushing / destemming and inoculation with a pure yeast culture, fermentation took place in static fermenters with American oak. Thereafter, the wine underwent maturation for 12 months in new and seasoned American and French Oak before final blending and bottling.
