Nugan Estate Alcira Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Deep crimson with youthful purple hues. Aromas of mulberry, mint and eucalyptus entwined with chocolate and mixed spice. Intense flavours of ripe cassis melded with dried herbs, mint and fennel. Silky tannins and subtle oak accompaniment provide a rich warm finish.

Excellent crimson purple; the best release from this vineyard to date; the bouquet and palate sing the same song of cassis, sweet earth, mint and soft but persistent mocha/ vanilla oak that allies itself with the equally persistent fine, ripe tannins.

Bright ruby. Powerful aromas of cassis, pungent herbs and coconut, with a strong oak spice element. Juicy, supple and deep in dark fruit liqueur flavor, with good energy and lift. In a supple, open-knit style, finishing with excellent focus and persistence.
This Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Coonawarra region of South Australia. Upon yeasting, the vinimatic was rotated four times daily until dryness, pressed, seeded with MLF bacteria and sent to new and seasoned French & American Oak barrels for 26 months maturation. Post fermentation the wine was racked and returned every 2 months and adjusted when necessary prior to final blending and bottling.
