Mount Fishtail Sauvignon Blanc 2014

A brilliant, pale straw green colour. Typical Marlborough Sauvignon aromas of grapefruit, box wood, pea-pods, tobacco & tomato leaf with an intriguing gooseberry yoghurt like complexity. The palate is fresh and full of vigour. Flavours of passionfruit, melon & grapefruit are balanced by limey acidity and good fruit sweetness. The palate is well structured and tapers to a long, lingering finish. A classic Marlborough statement.
Marlborough, in South Island of New Zealand, has gained world recognition for its Sauvignon Blanc wines, grown on alluvial soils. Extensive sunshine hours (over 250 per annum) and cool nights are the perfect background for this crisp and clean wine with ripe tropical overtones. Superb structure and length, through balanced acid and exquisite fruit concentrated, enhance the lime characters so distinctive of the Marlborough region in this wine. The 2014 season with a large diumal temperature range from the company owned vineyard in the Wairau valley, at the foot of Mount Fishtail has resulted in a harvest which makes this Sauvignon Blanc a perfect partner with seafood, poultry, pasta or Asian dishes.
