Casas del Bosque Reserva Rosé 2015

A deep watermelon, ruby color gives an impression that this will be full of flavor and not be a delicate style Rose. Red fruits of strawberry come through on the nose. Medium fuller in weight this comes in at the mid level of dryness with residual sugar weighing in at under 5 grams per liter with plenty of carrying acidity to keep it fresh and add drive on the finish. What gives this wine its unique character is its rounder texture, alcohol at 13.5% definitely helps to give viscosity and some slipperiness to its mouth feel, while lovely red berry, strawberry, raspberry and watermelon fruit flavors gush forth on its off dry finish. This is one of those wines that you can easily polish off a bottle before you know it. Very moreish, this is delightful on its own or with all kinds of food. Versatile and delicious, what else can you ask for in a Rose?
90 pts James Suckling
A more fruit-forward style syrah with lots of fruit and citrus aromas and flavors. Fresh and delicious. More like a light red. Drink now. Screw cap.
90 pts Vinous (JR)
(raised in neutral French oak barrels) Deep lurid pink. High-pitched red berry, candied lavender and white pepper scents pick up a smoky mineral overtone as the wine opens up. Juicy, focused and nicely concentrated, showing very good nervosity to the sappy raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors. Finely etched and seamless in texture, displaying strong closing persistence and resonating florality.
Night harvested and cold soaked at -3°C for five days prior to pressing. The must was then cold-settled and cool fermented (at temperatures between 10 and 12°C). Violet/pink in colour this Rosé wine shows lifted notes of strawberry and red cherry on the nose. Lush flavours of watermelon and raspberry give way to a fresh acidity and an off-dry finish.
