In early 2000, Argentine wine and viticulture experienced one of the most thriving times in the last 100 years. The powerful combination of investment, research and development, as well as increased export operations built the ideal scenario for the creation of Antucura estate and winery.

A decade earlier, Anne-Caroline Biancheri, a vibrant, young French woman, arrived in Buenos Aires and founded Caviar Bleu, a publishing house that would later move its offices to Mendoza, a winegrowing region with some of the most prominent grand cru wines in South America.

Upon arriving in this Andean oasis, Anne-Caroline would soon start blending her passion for knowledge with the vast world of wine, publishing works on Argentine wines as well as Mendoza’s history, culture, economy and geography, all of which were backed up by great researchers and renowned scholars’ collaborations. While working as a publisher, Antucura estate and winery began taking their first steps into a small grape growing paradise: Vista Flores.

"You can make wine almost anywhere in the world. Now, when it comes to making great wine—that you can achieve in a few places only: places that combine the essential and perfect harmony between soil, climate and culture." - That was the editor's note introducing the 2005 Guide to Wines and Wineries, where Anne-Caroline shared her passion about the terroir where Antucura had just started to come to life.

Vista Flores is a quiet spot in the Uco Valley, enveloped by the everlasting Andes mountain range. It is here where she found the perfect location to grow her estate and build a small winery. This village in the district of Tunuyán, where the population barely surpasses 4,000 people, was also the birthplace of and home to Anne-Caroline's children Giacomo and Giovanni. At the estate, time seems to march to the beat of a different tune, growing soft and mellow under every step that echoes the sound of rolled pebbles. The paths meet an old river bed hiding among cacti and jarilla, rosehip and rosemary shrubs. Surrounded by this local flora, the grapes grow, radiant with sunlight and overflowing with the power to mesmerize glasses and palates alike, inviting honest chats and openhearted laughs.

Experts say wines will always treasure a tiny bit of the land that watched them grow. Says Anne-Caroline, “We certainly love the idea. So that every time one of our wines make it to your glass, you are moved and inspired by the fresh, pure air in this place. Here is, dear friend, a bottle of Antucura, a memento of Vista Flores, made with love. Anne-Caroline, Giaco, Giovi and team! Feel free to learn more about life at our estate: @antucura”
